Wedge of Deception (formerly Slap Happy)
Team Crunch

INTRODUCTION

Wedge of Deception is my 12-pound combat robot that I built as part of the CSM Robotics class in the fall of 2004. This is my second combat robot. My first combat robot, Road Rage, was a superheavyweight. Road Rage was much too cumbersome to transport and to work on, so the idea of building a smaller robot - a much smaller robot - appealed to me. So I signed up for the class at CSM and built one! These pages were created to show the history and progression of my new 12-pounder.

LIFE AND TIMES OF WEDGE OF DECEPTION

The following pages outline the history of my 12-lb. robot, Wedge of Deception:

WHAT'S NEXT
[03/28/2005]
RoboGames is over and I still have a working robot in one piece. But that is only because all my opponents were wedges - and the two that beat me were nearly identical! I was very annoyed about that. All the other robots from CSM went up against other robots with weapons and got knocked out. I was SO LOOKING FORWARD to going up against robots with weapons, but all I got to fight was other wedges. I was irritated by that, as I actually had a chance against some of those weapon wielding bots. I took part in what was probably the most boring fight(s) of the event. Nobody was cheering. After all the time and hassle I went through just to get into this event, and they pitted me against nothing but wedges. But I'm not bitter. No, not me. Not bitter at all. I'll just show up next year with something to wow the crowd and rip my opponents to shreds.

So, what's next? Time will tell. Got some things in the pipeline if I ever get around to them.
